The History Betheda

Founded in 2006 with a divine vision given to Pastor Daryl and Lady Sandra Harris, Bethesda Church of God in Christ began with just ten members meeting in the Harris home. From those humble beginnings, the church grew quickly, moving to the downtown Las Vegas Library, then to its first dedicated space on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. There, Bethesda expanded ministries such as Sunday School, youth groups, and a dynamic Dance Ministry, while also introducing signature events like the Purity Ball and Super Soul Sunday. Continued growth led to new locations, first on West Craig Road in 2013, and later to its current home on Camino al Norte in 2018.
Bethesda’s commitment to prayer, Scripture, and community service has shaped its ministry. Outreach efforts have included tutoring programs, a community pantry, enrichment programs, and holiday assistance for hundreds of families. Even during the pandemic, Bethesda embraced innovation, launching a media department to expand its virtual presence and continue serving families with excellence.
Today, Bethesda remains a thriving congregation of faith, resilience, and compassion. Guided by its mission—Serving Christ: Building People and Community—the church continues to build stronger families, empower its members, and impact North Las Vegas with the love of Christ.
